William Eric Viking Hahne (born 19 April 1992) is a Swedish politician. He was the Deputy Chairman of the party Alternative for Sweden. From September 2011 to September 2015, he was also the Deputy Chairman of the Sweden Democratic Youth. Additionally, from November 2014 to April 2015, Hahne served in the City Council of Stockholm Municipality as a representative of the Sweden Democrats.
Political Career
Hahne became the press secretary for the Sweden Democrats in the Riksdag in 2010. He left in 2012, reportedly due to a controversial debate article in Aftonbladet with Gustav Kasselstrand. Later, in November 2012, Hahne and Kasselstrand published another article in Dagens Nyheter. They criticized the party for its treatment of Erik Almqvist after the “Järnrörsscandalen”. Hahne was expelled from the Sweden Democrats on 7 April 2015, shortly after leaving the youth leadership. The party then announced a split from the youth league. Hahne became the Deputy Chairman of Alternative for Sweden when it launched in March 2018. However, he resigned in March 2020 after it was revealed he sold surgical masks for 249 SEK each.
Game Development
Hahne is part of a Swedish game development team, Nordic Empire Games. In May 2022, they released Acquitted. This game supports Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions during the Kenosha Unrest Shooting and features far-right themes.
Military Service
Hahne completed his basic military training in 2012 at the Life Regiment Hussars. Since then, he has been an airborne ranger and group commander in the same unit. Hahne holds the rank of sergeant and is a trained paratrooper.
