At 12, she hit the Billboard charts in 1957 and earned the nickname “Little Miss Dynamite.” Her hits include “Sweet Nothin’s,” “I’m Sorry,” “I Want to Be Wanted,” “Speak to Me Pretty,” “All Alone Am I,” and “Losing You.” In 1958, she recorded “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” This song topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, making her the oldest artist to achieve this and breaking several records. Lee has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the 20th century’s most successful American artists. In 1960, her song “I’m Sorry” made her the second woman to top the Billboard Hot 100.
